A Blood Moon Observed in Japan

DSC 9959

70mm, F8, 8 secs, ISO800, photographed with AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED

If you google tonight or see the timeline of Twitter, you will find lots of the blood moon photos on the web. Yes, we can get access to lots of information immediately in this google era.

So what is important is not you will know a lot. Google knows more than you do. What is important is you will experience directly in your daily life.

Tonight was the good day for us to observe the total eclipse of the moon, it was like a burning moon or it seemed to shed lots of blood.

I tried my photography skill, but this photo was taken by accident.

Refreshing Sunset

DSC 9155

No matter how hot it is in summer, you will be healed and refreshed when you see the sunset in the sea.

If you can feel some breeze, that’ll be better.

A Breathtaking Landscape in a 'city' area

DSC 8596

Can you believe this photograph was taken in the ‘city’ area of Tokyo?

Of course, we can define the ‘city’ is from where to where in a very various way, but the photographed location is just 35km away from the central Tokyo. I can say this is a downtown area. Actually, people commute to Tokyo from this suburb.

I like this place so much that I paid a visit three times in three weeks. In this downtown area, this landscape that has a very big bridge appears in a sudden after climbing up 1km by bike. I had to take my breath away when I visited this for the first time.

This is surely one of the breathtaking places that you can see in the suburb of Tokyo.

Golden Time

IMG 1042

Today, unbelievably, we had no rain during the rainy season in Tokyo. Some people say that the summer has come already and it has been too hot. Others, like me, say that the summer has not come here yet, but today is not too hot, but comfortably hot.

In the comfortable temperature, I decided to go to Tokyo and for the first time in my memory I walked around the Sumida river. (Actually I did the similar things before.) I couldn’t buy anything I intend to buy, and what was worse, I had no bike to enjoy this oasis-like weather in the middle of the rainy season.

What was worst was I had no camera to photograph the golden time. How could we photograph something without a camera? No matter how great my camera is, it is just a bulky item when it is just left at home, not in my bag.

I had to compromise to take a shot by my iPhone 5s, which is not suitable to this blog title. I know this is not suitable, but still every landscape was so great that I had to take an iPhone shot.

A Completely Different Perspective.

DSC 8443

Oh, I am very sad this post is not ‘daily’ inspiration. This is a ‘season’ inspiration.

We tend to live on a daily life that continues the same thing again and again repeatedly. Yet, if we have a look at the usual things from a different perspective, that will show us completely different things.

How to Queue

DSC 5372

There are many curious things that I can’t understand in this world. Here is one thing;

In Tokyo, people somehow must queue before the escalator in order to open the right lane. The left lane is fully occupied as in this picture, and obviously the right lane is completely open. If people go and use the right lane, the traffic will be obviously smooth. But, somehow, people only go in the left lane and open the left lane for the people who want to dash.

I know everyone thinks this is a bit ridiculous but they follow the secret social code. I took this photo and followed the code.

SNOW SNOW SNOW

DSC 5095

We have tons of heavy once-in-45-years snow this weekend, which is very good enough to inspire me to resume this blog!

We are very lucky to have this kind of snow in the weekend; otherwise, we would have had lots of troubles.

Of course, I took the snow out of the road as well as I enjoyed the photo taking.

Two types of people who cycle under this condition

18mm f/8 1/320 ISO100 with AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED

There are two types of people who cycle under this harsh condition. One: he/she is required/forced to cycle because of his/her job. Two: he/she is crazy enough.

The mercury rose 40+, so there were no people who are around the cycling lane at that time. There is no place to take a rest. There is no place to get away from the cycling lane. All you can do is just cycle and go forward.

This picture was taken near the bridge of Kozaki Town, or Route 356. This place is still 40km+ away from the Tone-river mouth of the Pacific Ocean...

Why are you here?

35mm f/1.8 1/250 ISO1600 by AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G

One day in crazy hot summer, I had a guest that was not expected but familiar in the forest these days. I heard someone/something buzzing in the middle day of the night, and I thought I went crazy finally in this hot summer!

But I didn't go as crazy as the guest I had unexpectedly. I still don't know why and how he(or she) came here, but he really existed at home!

I took his photo, captured him, and released outside.

What time is it?

40mm f/3 1/125 ISO400 by AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G

Having a beer in the daytime on Sunday! This is one of the happiest moment in our life, even nicer if the beer is Tiger. This beer is very sharp compared with Japanese beers. The taste is so-so in Japan, but still great refreshment!

It's Tiger time!
